On 4–5 March 2026, Indigenous Peoples from across Botswana gathered in Ghanzi in a powerful show of unity and self-determination. Together, they agreed on a clear declaration built on three key demands: Constitutional recognition, land justice, and fair representation in national decision-making. This comes as President Duma Boko has pledged to ratify ILO Convention 169 and domesticate UNDRIP, which would make Botswana only the second African country to fully adopt these international Indigenous rights standards. The Community Leaders Network is profoundly honoured to have contributed to this auspicious event through the participation of Job Morris, a CLN Officer, and we remain committed to the ongoing struggle for justice, dignity, and true democracy for all Indigenous Peoples in Botswana.
