AICA is co-convening the first ever IPLCs conservation congress bringing together over 300 participants drawn from grassroots communities, Indigenous leaders, development partners, conservation NGOs/ CSOs, African governments, and other important actors in conservation of nature in Africa to create a rights-based, people-centered conservation strategy for the African continent that is both inclusive and equitable. This is the FIRST community-led conservation congress in Africa. The three-day Congress will be a space to reflect on community-led conservation initiatives in Africa’s regions.
